Life Story for Pearl Elnora Thomsen Russo

Pearl Elnora Thomsen Russo, 89, of Rifle, Colorado was born April 15, 1924 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the youngest of ten children born to George Bobier and Pearl Biggerstaff Bobier. Pearl grew up and attended school in Omaha.
She married Anker Thomsen on February 21, 1942, they had two daughters, Ardena and Lynda and lived in Wyoming and California before settling down in Aurora Colorado. After Ankers death, Pearl married Tom VonDette Sr. and moved to Rifle in 1968. They were married for ten years. She was married to Anthony Russo from 1981 until his death.
Pearl loved the out doors, horseback riding, camping, boating, square dancing, playing cards, volunteering, sewing and gardening. She loved her family, friends, and pets and they were very important to her. She was a Girl Scout leader, a trained Red Cross emergency volunteer, and a member of the Rebecca Lodge 46 and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, eight brothers, one sister, and two grandsons, Bryan and David Brock.
She is survived by her special friend and companion Jerry LeHew of Rifle, Colorado; daughters; Ardena (Charles) Brock of Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas and Lynda (Edward) Dodge of Centennial, Colorado; Son, Timothy (Monica) Russo of Denver. Seven grandchildren; Debbie (Dave) Hutton, Chris (Shireen) Dodge, Casey (Tony) Chapman, Carrie (Gabe) Velasquez; Brittany, Elexcis, and Linda Russo; six great grandchildren; Vallen, Kelsey, and McKenna Hutton, Jase and Teagan Chapman and Adaleah Velasquez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pearl passed away on September 5, 2013 while napping at E. Dene Moore Care Center in Rifle, Colorado.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
