Life Story for Leslie "Les" Dotson Jr.

Leslie "Les" Dotson Jr.
Leslie Dotson, Jr.
3/14/1926 – 1/19/2013

Leslie Dotson, Jr., 86, has irrigated his last field and hung up the shovel. He went to be with his Lord and family in heaven on Saturday January 19th peacefully at home. Leslie was the 4th of 5 siblings – all deceased – born to CL Dotson and Lena May (Brink) Dotson in Pueblo, CO in 1926. As a young man he worked on several ranches in the Collbran and Ridgway areas; moving on to work for the Railroad, Mesa and Garfield Counties. He then ranched for many years in the Porcupine Creek area south of Rifle.

Les enjoyed working (it was his hobby); never had a job he didn’t like; and was happiest with a full ditch of water. He was a man more comfortable thinking than talking. He was a kind and giving man.

Leslie was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Dotson; and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen (Boor) Dotson; son Kirk (Patricia) Dotson of Rifle; daughter Kathy (Rusty) Leech of Grand Junction; grandchildren Megan (Jeff) Anastacio of Denver and Kari (Joel) Sholtes of Ft. Collins; great-grandson Sawyer Anastacio; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be held in the spring. Notices will follow.

In lieu of flowers, we suggest donations to the First Christian Church in Rifle; or work on your garden or home with family, he would have wanted that.

Rest in peace our husband, father, and grandfather; your legacy will be remembered.
