Obituary for Gloria Aluise

Gloria  Aluise
Gloria Louise Costanzo Aluise of Silt, Colorado, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, October 4, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital, in Grand Junction, after a brief illness. She was 85.
She is survived by her sons, Clinton (Sally), of Grand Junction; Gerald (Valerie), of North Dakota: Richard (Janet), of Silt; and David, of Greeley; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, whom she regarded as her family.
Family members who preceded her in death were her parents, Giuseppe Costanzo and Jessina (Zarlingo) Costanzo; her brother, Melvin Costanzo and his wife, Margie; her sister, Vetina (Costanzo) Scherar and her husband, Raymond; her daughter, Vetina Lynne Aluise; her grandson, Joshua James Aluise; and her loving nephew William Scherar.
Gloria was born in Grand Junction on July 22, 1928. Her parents and siblings moved to Silt when she was a young child. She graduated from the original Silt Union High School. She attended nursing school in La Junta, Colorado, and she served as a nurse at St. Francis Hospital and Penrose Hospital, both in Colorado Springs, for many years.
Gloria enjoyed and loved her family, her friends and her church, all of whom made her very happy, especially in the final moments of her long life.
Rosary will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Silt at 7 p.m. on October 10, with Mass of Christian Burial held at Sacred Heart on Friday, October 11, at 10 a.m. Burial at the Silt Skyline Cemetery immediately following Mass.
In lieu of flowers, Gloria requested that those who wish to do something make a donation to their charity of choice.
