March 2, 1923 – March 17, 2014
Fletcher, known by many friends and family as Rosie, passed away on March 17, 2014 at home, at the
age of 91.
Fletcher was born in Paragonah, Utah to Leonard and Viola Bleak and was preceded in death by his
Siblings Amanda Willard, Deward and Julius Bleak, Beatrice Shideler, Rob and Howard Robinson, and
beloved daughters Karen Manuppella, Sara LouAnn Bassham and Nancy Nelson.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years; Ellen, son Lawrence & Debra Brackett, son-in-law Marvin &
Esther Claridge, grandchildren Ginger & Mike Ray, Robert & Brandi Manuppella, Louie & Casey
Manuppella, Kent Claridge, Kelsy Claridge, Lisa & Chris Evenson, Julie & John Ramirez, Kevin & Becky
Nelson, Jennifer & Travis Howell, Kelly & Kole McCaughey, seventeen great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
Due to the death of his mother and ill health of his father, he was sent to live with his mother’s sister Zola
and her husband Joe Robinson at the age of six. They raised him as one of their own along with Beatrice,
Rob, and Howard.
In his early years, Fletch spend his time on the Robinson Sheep Ranch. During that time, he married
Loraine Hall. Shortly after his marriage in 1944, he was called to duty serving in the Army with the 42nd
Infantry in Germany and Austria. After an honorable discharge in 1946, he returned to Colorado and the
Robinson Ranch; later marrying Ellen Wilson in 1959.
He spent many years in the Oil Shale Industry, where at the age of 67, he retired upon the closure of
Unocal’s Oil Shale Project.
Fletch was known as a man of great generosity and a kind spirit. He left his family and many friends with
memories of a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed. We love

A celebration of his life will be held at the LDS Church in Rifle, Saturday the 29th of March at 1PM.
Graveside services will be planned for a later date.
